Life changing events aren't just limited to experiences. It can include expectations too. Sometimes, we think that some upcoming events are so life changing that we define them as life changing events. It may just be our expectations but because we believed so much in them that we think they are life changing.

Definition of Life Changing are slightly different between Andrew and Verene. Andrew thinks that events which brings a lot of opportunities are considered life changing. Verene defines life changing events as events that has a significant impact in life. Significant doesn't mean that it has to be huge, it just need to be significant.
