Here's some highlights from this week's podcast:

This podcast topic is inspired by the book ikigai. Andrew read this amazing book last year as he was very into personal development. This book talked about the Japanese secret to a long and happy life. One of the secret is to eat until 3 quarter full or just stop when you feel like you can eat more. It's a vague secret but after taking action, Andrew and Verene does find that it brings some life improvements which includes feeling less tired after meals and taking in less unhealthy food.

What's the definition of enough and satisfied in eating? Our definition of enough is ikigai's 3 quarter full and satisfied means the time where you just indulge into as much food as you want until you decide to stop. However, satisfied can be subjective. When you're eating a plate of bland food, satisfied is when you finished the plate and feel that you're full. When you're eating your favourite dish, it can take multiple servings before you feel satisfied.

What cause us to eat till we are satisfied? Desire. Just like everything in life, when we can reach for something we want easily, we'll usually just reach for it. It's a human nature for us to blindly reach for our wants without thinking it through. Therefore, we need some discipline to figure out which want is necessary and which is not to prevent ourselves from falling into this trap.
