Episode 9 - The fine line between skepticism and cynicism.

Here's the highlights from this week's podcast:

We're born with trust, skepticism joins when we experience conflicts of truth. When are young, we have no barriers of trust, we trust whatever that we were told and whoever that doesn't give us an unpleasant experience. When we grow old, we start to experience skepticism after receiving conflicts of truth. They can be quite mind blowing, especially when we experience that from our parents.

We should be skeptical of things. The basis of advancement depends on people being skeptical in the first place. If no one is questioning this world, there won't be thoughts to make it better. Scientists and mathematician are basically skeptics of this world. It's their doubts and answers which allows us to enjoy today's conveniences in life. However, there is an extent of skepticism which we shouldn't breach. We'll talk about that in the next paragraph.

The fine line between skepticism and cynicism. It's good to question but it bad when that turns into distrust. People who are cynical usually ties the achievement of the work from their skepticism to their identity, therefore they cannot accept other opinions or others doubting his work. In order to prevent us from turning into cynics, we should learn to put down our ego and accept all kinds of discovery as an achievement. You may have disprove your point but that is a great success telling everyone that this idea actually doesn't work.

Truth is defined by the majority, some truth just can't be acknowledged when released at the wrong time. You can discover a truth that will help out humanity but they just can't accept that fact. There will be no point in fighting for the truth because in the end if they don't accept it, it wouldn't help them too. In cases as such, there is no choice but to keep your discovery for another time. Maybe you're just ahead of your time. The current truth is just the best proven explanation for the current situation. You're possibly the only one which sees the current situation clearly.
