S2 Ep 24 - How to serve ourselves but not our investors

Investors, a term which we usually associate with money and businesses is actually applicable to our personal lives as well. Think about it. In life, we are usually working for someone else. Whether its when we're young where we work for our parents or teachers. When we're in the society where we're working for our bosses or mortgages. Or when we have our own companies where we work for shareholders who've invested in our companies. This is what investors mean in our lives, people who've put work or money in us expecting something in return.

While it is important to make sure that we repay them, most of the time, we work too hard to please them. The reason we shouldn't please them is because that unlike ourselves, investors doesn't care about us most of the time. What they care is the return they get and how they can utilise that return to gain more in the future. Ultimately, its what we invest in ourselves that makes us more valuable, not how much we serve our investors.

Of course, just like what I've said above, we still repay but we just repay. We don't do extra, we need to make sure that we are still placing ourselves as the utmost priority in every transaction.
