S2 Ep 44 - Why is crying necessary in a relationship to prevent a bad breakup?
We, as a human, cry. It is one of the natural reactions we have. In a relationship, we do that as well and it seems like it somehow brings us some benefits. So how does crying play a role in a relationship, and especially to prevent a bad breakup?
When a couple goes into an argument, usually both of them might be surrounded by anger and emotions. The argument might even get heated if they couldn't contain that or come to a consensus in the end. If during this time, one of the parties started crying, the atmosphere between the couple might change. It is also a way to express how you are feeling to your other half. Arguments don't only bring us anger but most likely make us feel hurt. If both parties would be able to calm themselves down by the act of crying and continue with some discussion in a calmer tone, then why not?
Sometimes people think that crying is a sign of weakness, especially in the Asian culture where guys are taught to not cry since young. However, it is totally fine to have a breakdown in front of your partner because that is one of the safe zones for you to express your inner you and emotions. If we don't process our emotions, they get piled up and it could even cause more harm in the future which is unpredictable. Thus, it is essential for people to cry in their relationship if there is a need.
